We asked Georgie (owner and buyer of HUB) and Shane (men's buyer and manager) to talk to us about spring summer trends, the inspirations behind the collections and what made them excited.
Let's begin with YMC, HUB's old time favourite, which presents for SS18 soft ice cream shades, in washed fabrics. As part of their collection is their in-house prints of Hawaiian inspired palms and Mexican folk motives. "The collection reflects a gentle sun kissed Greek-relaxed vibe, where indeed the look-book was shot."
WOOD WOOD brings a new denim shape (BOB) in a dark clean indigo. Styled with the perfect off-white workwear jacket and the 'slogan' tees and shirting, it creates the perfect "WOOD WOOD balance" between style and function. The vintage look of local signage as well as "quotes from Italian cultural personalities such as Federico Fellini and Ettore Sottsass, are apparent in the prints and graphics of the collection...Italian style and bright colours are evident in a fresh and optimistic collection."
La Paz is back for SS18 stronger than ever. One of our summer favourites, the Portuguese label shows for this collection new fabrications, new tones but the same reliable quality and shapes.
With Champion we are back in the 80s with sports jocks on holiday! "Think Velour polo shirts and short shorts! Baby pinks, blues and dash of yellow." Worth mentioning the classic tie-die and branded sweatshirt.
"This spring/summer sees a softness flow through the menswear collections. With pastel shades of pink, ecru, pistachio and sky blues - interjected with hot reds, yellows and the occasional print. There’s an element of sun kissed Mediterranean coastlines, sun-bleached cottons and gentle breezes. The overall feel for the collections is a relaxed, feel good summer."
We are looking forward to showcasing the new collections in the coming weeks, and hope you like the easy wearing styling as much as we do.
Georgie and Shane
