The Haberdashery on Stoke Newington High St is one of our favourite local eateries. The food is excellent, the coffee is delicious and the staff are super friendly and efficient. What's not to love?!
This year, for the second time, the good folks at The Haberdashery are hosting a Christmas day lunch for 22 local elderly people. Local businesses have donated food (including an 11 kilo turkey from J Parsons Butchers on the High St!) and volunteers have stepped up to staff the event where they'll be serving a full Christmas dinner, hosting a secret santa, playing music and bingo.
For Massimo, who runs The Haberdashery with partner Greg, it's all about having a fun event where local elderly people and volunteers can get together and have a party on Christmas day. He hopes that the attendees can meet new friends and keep in touch throughout the year.
If you want to help by donating some money to cover costs of the lunch you can do so here or you can donate in person in their Crouch End or Stoke Newington locations. Any leftover funds will be donated to charities for the elderly.
